Hello followers!
It’s a beautiful Tuesday here in Wisconsin. I’m back home from my first year of college and have spent the past few weeks unpacking and reconnecting (and running my ass off). One of the best parts of being home is a constantly well stocked refrigerator! Momma has been so good about buying me all the spinach, bananas, and Greek yogurt I need. I’m down to 119 and I’m feeling as good as I did at this time last year, except way stronger and with much more energy!
I leave for a study abroad trip to Italy in a week, and I finally am starting to feel confident enough for potential European swimsuit-wearing.Yikes. I will say, though, that it’s been great motivation thinking about the trip. Nothing says “don’t eat that” like the beach!
Now that things have quieted down around here, I am hoping to get back into the habit of logging my food and exercise daily. While I’m in Italy I’ll do my best to post pictures of all the tasty, healthy meals and treats I encounter.
Here’s what I ate/did yesterday and so far today:
B - turkey bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on whole grain English muffin, bananaL - Special K strawberry cereal, orangeD - snap peas, granola bar, blueberry Greek yogurt, Kashi salsa crackersS - brownie at work (oops!)
B -coffee, banana, whole grain cinnamon toast
And as always, every day is accompanied by at least 8 glasses of water.
Yesterday I ran HIIT for 20 minutes on the treadmill and went about 1.5 miles followed by 75 minutes of POP Pilates abs, inner thighs, muffin top meltdown, and back attack!
I’m off to go run and take a shower for the day. Stay healthy everyone!

I will be taking place in the Color Run on August 18 in St. Louis! I can’t wait.

I would LOVE to do this is September.

honestly so jealous of your body. you really dont need to be trying to lose weight even if its only a couple pounds. you are beautiful the way you are.

Well thank you! My goal isn’t really to lose weight, it’s to get in shape. I keep a fitspo blog to motivate and remind myself to lead a healthy lifestyle every day. But again, thank you for the wonderful compliment!

RAN TWO MILES TODAY

The most I’ve ever ran at one time before is a mile. I honestly can’t believe how far I went today! Running outside and with my sister was definitely a bonus. I am on a cloud.

My hips have gotten wider since I was 16 and 114 lbs. I need to accept that when I am fit, my body will look a lot closer to this than my old pictures.

My first “gym mirror pic”. I need to start giving myself more credit for how I actually look. When I’m home alone my mirror is such a deceiving thing. I’m always surprised when I catch my reflection in a store window or the wall sized mirror in the fitness room and realize that I’m not as out of shape as I think.

My journey was never about losing weight, I want to make that clear. However, I’ve really lost touch with my body image in the past school year. I don’t SEE myself when I look in the mirror. There’s only about 7 pounds in the way of seeing myself the way I used to, and I’m determined to get there the right way.
